The July board meeting saw the directors vote in a new chair to lead the ASC into the future. The chair is responsible for guiding the board and the association in upholding the association’s values and supporting a network of highly skilled professionals to ensure clients get the very best advice for their particular security requirements.
The board, which included new directors Nigel Cook, Simon Crane, and Ross Harvey felt overwhelmingly that Gary Thomas would be the right person to take up the reigns. Many of you will know Gary personally - his enthusiasm, energy and commitment to the ASC have been evident throughout his time over the last seven years as a director on the board.
Vice Chair Roger Noakes said, “Gary is the right person to ensure that the ASC remains at the forefront of the security industry, as we all take on new challenges, during the fast-changing technological innovations taking place.”
At the conclusion of the vote Gary Thomas thanked the directors for their confidence in him and commented, "I am a proud member of the ASC and honoured to become Chair of the leading industry organisation for independent security professionals operating across the UK. I will follow in the footsteps of those who built the ASC and work tirelessly to represent our members. The ASC offers excellent networking and educational activities, with opportunities to develop leads and collaboration on projects, an area I am keen to promote."
