Gary is a distinguished former Bomb Disposal Officer and counter-terrorism specialist with over 30 years of military, commercial, and humanitarian experience. Holding a Master of Arts in Transnational Organised Crime, Gary has a robust educational foundation complemented by numerous specialised qualifications, including advanced explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and improvised explosive device disposal (IEDD), as well as certifications in mine action and explosive hazard management.

Gary’s career began with the British Army in 1989, where he developed his expertise in EOD, IEDD, and counter-terrorism. During his tenure, he was responsible for leading and managing high-risk operations in the United Kingdom and in remote and hostile environments abroad. His leadership skills were further honed as he managed multi-national teams, often in covert operations supporting numerous government agencies. After retiring from the army, Gary transitioned into the humanitarian and commercial sectors providing managerial, instructional and technical positions,

In 2015, Gary set up his own company Stirling Defence, which has taken him to many locations around the world including the United States, Colombia, Iraq, Syria, Laos, Cambodia, Lebanon and Yemen. Throughout his career, Gary has demonstrated exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
