James is a highly experienced postgraduate-qualified humanitarian, conflict, security, stabilisation, elections, political affairs, and foreign policy professional. He possesses a strong professional background across a wide range of issues regarding security consultancy. His experience included humanitarian, political, conflict and stabilisation leadership, advocacy, and programming in fragile, high-risk, and complex environments.
He has received First Class Honours degree, degrees with Distinction, as well as winning numerous awards for research and academic excellence. James has over a decade of proven practical experience of managing and leading the delivery of development and stabilisation interventions in disaster and conflict affected states, having worked in the most difficult security and development environments, including both emergency response and long term programmatic roles. He is an operationally experienced UAV/UAS/drone pilot.
Diverse deployed field experience including conflict monitoring in Eastern Ukraine, Ebola response management in Sierra Leone, post-conflict programming in Kosovo, election monitoring operations in Eastern Ukraine, Kosovo, Turkey, and FYR Macedonia (now known as the Republic of North Macedonia), as well as humanitarian safety and security management in the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean. He is a native English speaker, keen learner, and highly computer literate.
In 2007 James founded stabilisation.eu, a non-profit security consultancy for the charitable sector. Since then, he has been the Executive Director, managing and leading the consultancy. stabilisation.eu prides itself on doing the utmost to help right across the globe, in places where our skills are required and can make a positive impact. Our focus areas of care are the sick, injured, or disabled; young people at risk; the elderly; the homeless or displaced; and all other vulnerable persons affected in situations of emergency, disaster, disease, and/or conflict.
Mission: To deliver high-quality pro bono professional safety and security services to organisations in stabilisation and humanitarian settings across the globe, who otherwise could not afford such services, in order to help them perform their work safely.
