Jon regularly teaches Advanced CCTV (VSS) courses and other custom CCTV (VSS) courses, for the industry's leading training provider, Tavcom Training. Courses are provided for Installers, Consultants, Distributors, Manufacturers and End Users.
He is an internationally recognised speaker having spoken at security conferences in the USA, Dubai (INTERSEC), the Sydney Security show and is a regular at IFSEC and the "Security" shows. Jon is also a guest lecturer at the Peoples Public Security University in Beijing.
Jon has gained considerable expertise in Town Centre CCTV system design and implementation, as well as all applications of CCTV from covert installations to motorway systems, both in the UK and internationally.
Personal Summary After qualifying with a degree in electronics, Jon spent three years as a Contracts Manager for a company producing Mimic Diagrams. This was followed by 5 years design and development of switched mode power supplies. This gave him a firm foundation for the, more than eight years spent with three major CCTV systems houses, starting as a Project Manager, then as a Technical Consultant and finally running a Projects Department as a Project Executive.
The Lyndhurst Consultancy was then formed by Jon in 1995.
Jon is a Director of the ASC, and he also represents the ASC on four British Standards Institution technical committees, for CCTV and Alarm Detection Devices and the Security Consultancy Code of Practice.
Jon is a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (CEng) and of the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (Grade C) and various Expert witness institutes.
Jon is also a Director of SafeGuard Security Consultants Ltd, a company that has been providing robust expert witness and consultancy services for over 40 years. SafeGuard's disciplines include, but are not limited to, CCTV (VSS) intruder detection, access control, ARCs, manned guarding, cash-in-transit, personal injury, violence at work, restraint techniques, aviation and airside security, dispute resolution and physical security including locks and safes. SafeGuard also provides risk/loss management, product/company evaluation and launch against British and European Standards, business plans, market research and security audits. From complex integrated systems to simple one-off needs, our competence is based on years of hands-on industry experience covering finance, manufacture, installation, project management, marketing and brand building.
As a trained expert witness for SafeGuard, I have been involved in a number of cases involving CCTV issues, access control, including biometrics. To date, all cases I have acted in, have been settled out of Court.
