Philip Grindell has a MSc in Security Management and is one of only 300 Chartered Security Professional (CSyP) globally.
Known as the person responsible for setting up the threat managemen team in Parliament following the assassination of Jo Cox MP in 2016, Philip then identified the next attack being planned in 2017 using behavioural threat methodology shared with him by the US Secret Service, preventing an MP and a Police Officer from being attacked.
He founded the consultancy Defuse in 2019, specialising in countering threatening & concerning behaviours & approaches from problematic people to corporate & private clients, including disputes, workplace harassment, violence and insider threats.
Philip has rapidly become known as the UK thought leader in Protective Intelligence, Behavioural Threat Management and the protection of prominent figures, regularly commenting on this subject in the media.
Philip appears in both Spears 500 and the Tatler Address Book as a recommended adviser for the UHNW and Private Client communities.
Previously, Philip served as a Scotland Yard Detective in the Metropolitan Police Specialist Operations Command for 30 years, during which he was seconded to British Intelligence for 3 years.
As a former Counter Terrorist Security Coordinator, he was responsible for the security plans protecting numerous events with the British Royal Family, Military and Government.
Philip launched The Online Bodyguard podcast in 2022 bring together globally renowned experts to discuss the latest research and practices that ensure the safety of private clients and prominent people.
