Simon started his career in security systems in 1985, initially working with well known integrator's in engineering, project management and senior management roles until 2003. In 2003, Simon established SGW, an independent consultancy practice in the UK, initially dedicated to supporting organisations with large-scale CCTV and Electronic/Physical security systems specification, supervision, programme management and authorising engineer services. In 2010, Simon expanded the SGW brand into the middle east and now has a licenced branch of his UK mother company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, together with attested partners in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Simon built and developed an extensive contact network within the security industry, both in the UK and Middle East Regions. He is an experienced security adviser - holding both the ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) recognised certifications with a track record of assisting organizations to identify vulnerabilities, risk profiling and risk criticality. Placed at Position 20 on IFSEC Global 2014 Top 40 list of the most influential people in the security industry, Simon has applied operational experience with professional security management and physical security related qualifications to continuously deliver high quality security support on behalf of client base. His company, SGW Safety & Security Limited is a BSi accredited ISO 9001 organisation and has worked on significant projects internationally, including in excess of 35 town/city CCTV surveillance schemes in the UK, together with security master planning and engineering consulting assignments in China, Russia, All GCC Gulf Countries, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and UK. The SGW practice has a full in-house 2D and 3D drawing office capability, with Auto Desk Building Design Suite, BIM and Revit trained engineers. His experience extends to working on multiple tall building projects up to 95 floors high, together with CPTED planning of Masdar City in Abu Dhabi and a 16 kilometre PIDS project assessment in the Middle East.
